MEET LETÍCIA CÂMARA – Legal Assistant

Letícia Câmara is an Immigration Legal Assistant in the Asylum Division at Brooks Law Firm, where she supports attorneys with case preparation, legal research, document organization, and case management. Her work helps ensure asylum and humanitarian immigration matters move forward carefully and efficiently while keeping each client’s individual circumstances at the center of the process.

Letícia’s interest in law has always been closely connected to its impact on people’s lives. She was drawn to immigration law because it combines legal analysis with an international and multicultural environment, while offering the opportunity to support individuals seeking protection and new opportunities.

One of the experiences that shaped her career was working with Caritas through the PARES project, supporting refugees and asylum seekers. Seeing firsthand the preparation and attention required in immigration matters reinforced an important principle for Letícia: behind every case file is a person, a family, and a story.

Now building her career in U.S. immigration law while pursuing her legal education internationally, Letícia values the opportunity to learn from experienced attorneys and contribute to meaningful cases. She approaches her work with empathy, integrity, and attention to detail, guided by the principle, “Always do the right thing, even when no one is watching.”

Outside of work, Letícia enjoys reading, writing, learning about different languages and legal systems, and spending time with family and friends. And despite her serious interest in law and academics, colleagues may be surprised to learn that she still enjoys watching cartoons.
