MEET CARL HURVICH – SENIOR ATTORNEY AT BROOKS LAW

Carl Hurvich is a highly skilled immigration attorney at Brooks Law, recognized for his deep legal insight and commitment to protecting the rights of immigrants facing some of the most complex legal challenges. A graduate of Oberlin College and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Carl began distinguishing himself early in his career. He earned First Place Oralist honors in the Monrad G. Paulson Moot Court Competition and gained hands-on experience through the Criminal Appeals and Civil Rights Clinic, where he developed a strong foundation in appellate advocacy and constitutional law.
Carl is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York, and is also admitted before the First Circuit Court of Appeals. His wide-ranging experience includes appearances before state and federal courts as well as all major immigration administrative bodies, including Immigration Court (EOIR), USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
At Brooks Law, Carl focuses extensively on the intersection of criminal and immigration law — often referred to as “crimmigration.” He represents noncitizens who face immigration consequences due to past or pending criminal charges, including removal defense, post-conviction relief, and complex waivers. His work includes securing relief for clients with aggravated felony convictions, challenging inadmissibility and deportability findings, and navigating the legal minefield of detention and bond hearings.
Carl’s ability to analyze overlapping legal systems and create innovative strategies makes him a critical asset for clients whose futures depend on resolving deeply layered legal issues. He is known for his clear communication, rigorous research, and fearless advocacy, especially in high-stakes cases where both liberty and lawful status are on the line.
Whether representing someone in deportation proceedings or working behind the scenes to vacate a harmful conviction, Carl is driven by a belief in second chances and the power of justice. His work not only reinforces Brooks Law’s reputation for handling complex immigration matters but also reflects his personal mission to be a voice for those navigating the hardest chapters of their immigration journey.
