JACQUELYNE CAVALCANTE – Head of Family Immigration Department, Brooks Law

Jacquelyne brings valuable experience working with Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases, a special visa for children under 21 who have faced neglect, abandonment, or abuse. Hearing the difficult stories of these young clients and helping them gain a better, documented life in the U.S. has been both heartbreaking and incredibly rewarding.

Now, as Head of the Family Immigration Department, Jacquelyne oversees marriage petitions, adjustment of status cases, and other family immigration matters. Though she has moved between departments, her mission remains the same: to give immigrants the opportunity for a better life in the United States.

Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Jacquelyne loves spending time with her family, friends, and her two wonderful mixed-breed dogs, Monalisa and Lindy. She is also an English teacher, creates content about English and immigration, and actively participates in volunteer work.

She values working at Brooks Law Firm because it allows her to truly make a difference in people’s lives — whether through SIJ or family immigration cases. Jacquelyne appreciates the collaboration with some of the most intelligent and kind people who share her passion for helping others.
