A Federal judge from New York ordered the Government to fully reinstate the DACA Program.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Once this decision has been approved, The Department of Homeland Security should:
- Re-open enrollment for the program
- Extend the grant of the deferred action itself and the corresponding employment authorization to 2 YEARS instead of the current 1 YEAR
The final decision regarding this policy is yet to be decided but this could be an indicator of what’s to come with the next administration.
